Leonie's win with SOS and Mondo

Leonie Ord is one of the first people to receive a solar system through the work of community renewable energy group, SOS and technology solution provider Mondo Power and she is very happy with the result!

Leonie had wanted a solar system for some time because of her environmental concerns and the local group SOS opened the door – “It saved me hours of comparing prices, legwork and research on system quality and design. When Mondo gave me the information I needed, through their free solar assessment of my property, it made the whole process achievable for me”.

“The installers, City to Surf Solar, were helpful too. They listened to my needs regarding where I wanted the panels, so as not to interrupt the aesthetics of my house and they explained each step, which I greatly appreciated”.

The proposed micro-grid Mondo and SOS are working towards for the Southern Otways, interests Leonie too – “I’ve been reading about Yackandandah’s push towards 100% renewable energy” she said and hopes that will be part of Apollo Bay’s future.

SOS operates on the traditional lands of the Gadubanud and Gulidjan people of the Eastern Maar Nation.  We understand their land was never ceded and that reconciliation cannot happen without acknowledging the truth around those events. We pay our respects to all First Nation Elders past, present and those emerging.
