Newly Launched Website

Welcome to the new S.O.S website!

  • Looking for positive news on our climate?

  • Want to be part of the solution?

  • Want to take local action?

  • Looking to make a difference?

Southern Otways Sustainable have been working hard over the past few months to launch our new website, showcasing local opportunities for action, and local RE heroes, their stories, their hopes and their achievements.

You can now find information ranging from our projects to our upcoming events. We believe this site will enhance our ability to engage with all stakeholders, especially through the ability to make announcements and individuals to contact us via our Contact Us page.

Millions of Australians are driving change through their own action, by installing rooftop solar. More than 2.2 million homes & businesses have installed Solar PV systems in Australia,

  • for the hip pocket

  • for the environment

  • for energy independence

All that lovely cheap solar power…. is more than doubled by new wind generation. It’s an unstoppable energy revolution, driven by market forces.

If renewables make such good sense for our homes and businesses, do they make sense for our communities? We think the self-reliant nature of Apollo Bay & the Southern Otways make us the ideal community to try. We’d love for you to join the movement!

Please get in touch if you'd like to lend your support in any way - volunteering, investing in energy efficiency or renewable energy projects for your home or business, suggestions or have any questions.

SOS operates on the traditional lands of the Gadubanud and Gulidjan people of the Eastern Maar Nation.  We understand their land was never ceded and that reconciliation cannot happen without acknowledging the truth around those events. We pay our respects to all First Nation Elders past, present and those emerging.
